Meet Owl,
Owl, the little cat with the big, beautiful eyes! When she first arrived, Owl was a bit shell-shocked and her wide-eyed expression instantly gave her her name. It didn’t take long for her to find her paws, and in just a few days she revealed herself to be one of the sweetest, most affectionate cats we’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. We like to think the stars aligned to bring her to us.
Owl would be happiest in a calm, quiet home where life moves at a gentle pace. She’s not a fan of loud noises or too much hustle and bustle, but in the right environment, she truly shines. Gentle and sensitive, she is also friendly, agreeable, and wonderfully affectionate. Owl is social, engaging, and she simply can’t hide her feelings of love when she’s with you.
Whether you’re a first-time cat owner or have years of experience, Owl is ready to make your home feel warmer with her sweet presence and endless affection.
Owl is open to meet kids of any age, just as long as they understand that sometimes, especially in a new environment, she may need a few days to settle in. Once settled, she'll tolerate being picked up and carried but needs a little extra time to build up that trust. Owl loves human attention - she loves to be patted and touched - she loves her ears being scratched.
As we cannot test in this environment, we are unsure how Owl would go living with dogs. This would be up to the discretion of her new owners. She would potentially be ok with a dog who is chill, calm and quiet.
As for cats, Owl seems interested in making friends. We encourage anyone with existing cats to do a gradual and supervised introduction over a few days to ensure that both cats have the best chance of becoming friends. But she would be fine on her own, too.
We always encourage cats to be indoor cats. Owl has already experienced living on the streets and she enjoys being inside where she feels safe. If she is outside, it will increase her chances of running away, getting lost, injured, or worse. As an inside cat she can live her best life possible.
Owl has low-range energy levels and is not interested in toys or playing - but if you count purring and making biscuits as an activity then she would be considered to have mid-range energy. She loves love, and loves her bed - she'll get so happy, she purrs non stop, starts making delicious biscuits and won't stop until the bakery is fully stocked.
Owl is not fussy with her food and she won't say no to a treat or two either. Food is the way to her heart as it makes her very happy!
Staff Comments: When Owl first came in she was reserved and timid, but within 48hrs she really came out of her shell and became a very sweet, affectionate and loving cat who loves her ears being scratched.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
