About Barney - 3 Year Old Chihuahua X Terrier

Barney is a 3 year old Chihuahua/Terrier Cross and weighs in at just 6.2 kg.
Up until recently, Barney led a solitary life outside and is now super excited enjoying his new surroundings and lifestyle in his foster carers home.
He is an absolute pleasure to have in our home, and It is wonderful to watch him discover new adventures. He loves being involved in all activities we do in and out of the home and will cuddle in tight at night on the lounge with his foster family.
Barney shares his foster home with a bigger, gentle female dog and the occasional visit of an older female Border Collie. We feel he would benefit from living with another dog to provide him with comfort and guidance.
He is always up for playtime with his much loved toys. He is an indoor dog and is house trained if he has access to outside. He does not use the dog door in his foster home as it is more suited for the larger dogs, and he always has access to outdoors. He sleeps inside at night.
Barney is a wash and wear dog that needs little upkeep other than keeping his toenails trimmed, his teeth healthy and weekly brushing to remove loose hair.
He is good on the lead, although he needs more training when meeting other dogs. He is generally comfortable with most breeds if they are calm but occasionally he will react to one that is a bit too jumpy or excited and needs reassurance that he is ok. He loves long walks on the beach and easily keeps up with the bigger dogs.
Barney has good recall and travels well in the car. He will make a wonderful watchdog and will give his opinion on loud neighbourhood noises or visitors at the gate.
He has not been tested with cats but is fine with the 2 year and 4 year old grandchildren that visit his foster home.
Barney is in foster care in Valentine (Lake Macquarie), NSW. His adoption fee is $600 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas, worms, vet checked and microchipped.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:

(2) If the questionnaire is approved, we will arrange a property check so we
can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've applied for.
(3) Next, we will arrange for you to meet the pet, usually at the foster
carer's home or at a nearby park.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay the adoption fee*, sign the NSW change of ownership form and our DRN Adoption Agreement and take your new family member home! The two week trial period begins on the day of adoption.
*We prefer payment by funds transfer and don't accept cash or personal
cheques.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
