About Raider
Our big boy Raider aka Sarge is unfortunately back on the hunt for a new home due to no fault of his own.
Raider (Sarge) is a 3 year 7 month old desexed male Neopolitan Mastiff that is a Wannabe lapdog!!
Raider loves nothing more than a snuggle on the couch and hanging out with his humans - big and small. He has been living with children that have grown up around big dogs and those children are obsessed with this big lovable hunk.
Raider is a gentle boy but doesn't realise how big and strong he really is, therefore he is not suitable for a home with children that have not been around BIG dogs that think they are terrier sized 😅. Raider has not been around cats, pocket pets or other dogs.
In line with his breed, Raider has a big deep bark and will alert you to anything out of the ordinary. This boy will bond very quickly and strongly with his new family ... he appears to be very comfortable with females and takes a little longer with men to be comfortable.
Raider will need a home that has big dog experience, and without fear of slobber 🤭🤭
He can be vocal (sound's like a fire siren ) if he thinks he is missing out on family activities, but will settle once told to settle down.
Raider has been flea and worm treated, vaccinated, desexed and microchipped. His adoption fee is $600.00

Specific information from his previous owner:
My girls are 5 and 6. He is excellent with them. We have had a lot of other kids around him and he is pretty good with them. That said if kids run he chases them and can get a bit jumpy. Not aggressively just trying to play.
He dislikes:
Water and still can't be bathed
But will walk in the ocean 🤷🏼♀️
Gets anxious and barks at thunder
He doesn't like loud noises (fireworks)
He is still very strong in the lead
He likes:
Company.
Toys that make noise.
Walks.
Being patted.
Being involved and around people.
Bones.
Chasing birds.
He doesn't dig
He is just a goofy and happy dog who doesn't realise his size or speed. For a big dog he runs like a greyhound.
He is toilet trained.
He sleeps both inside and outside on a padded dog bed.
He likes to sit right at your feet and push against you.
I'm not sure how he is with other dogs but seems excited when we see other dogs while out walking.
He has no food aggression.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
Adoption details
We like to take the personal approach where a person sends an email of interest around an animal and then we will follow up with phone discussions and email exploration through a survey.
Please note we are a small group of volunteers that balances the administrative side with the care of the animals.
Please only apply for one of our animals if you are genuinely interested in them.
We expect the prospective owner to travel to meet the animal and we are open to trial periods to ensure we have the match right.
