About Jeffery
Jeffery is a sweet young cockatiel with a big personality and a rough start to life. Recently, he required surgery after swallowing unsafe fibres, but he has recovered beautifully and is now ready to find his forever family.
✅ Cleared for chlamydia
✅ Cleared on faecal testing
✅ Microchipped
We aren’t certain of Jeffery’s gender, but given his love for whistling and singing, we believe he may be male. He is shy, but has occasionally stepped up onto a finger, and will make a wonderful companion for someone who doesn’t mind the cheerful (and at times, constant) sounds of a cockatiel.
⚠️ Jeffery must only have bird-safe toys and requires close supervision to ensure he doesn’t swallow unsafe materials again.
Cockatiels can live up to 25–30 years with the right care, so his future family must be prepared for this long-term commitment. He is on a diet of vegetables, crumbles and seed and lives well mixed with budgies, cockatiels, canaries and finches.
📍 Jeffery is located in Scoresby, VIC
💌 We are accepting applications now, please enquire for a copy of his foster-to-adopt contract.
Medical notes
Jeffery has a history of eating fibres, has has had surgery for this. He must be supervised and kept away from fabrics, rope, string and other similar items at all times.
Adoption details
Adoption Process – Lazzi’s Legacy Bird Rescue & Sanctuary Inc.
Rescue – Rehabilitation – Rehome
Our adoption process begins with an email conversation, including a series of questions designed to help us learn more about you and your home environment. This helps us ensure the best possible match between you and one of our birds.
Once we have identified a suitable bird, a four-week foster period will begin. This trial allows you and the bird to adjust and determine if it’s the right fit. If things don’t work out, you may either trial another bird or choose to have your adoption fee refunded.
If the bird settles in well and you decide to become their forever home—congratulations!
