Meet Drew - a gentle soul ready to find his forever home

Drew is a beautiful three-year-old greyhound with the softest eyes and the kindest heart. He is looking for a very special home, one filled with love, patience and a calm environment where he can continue to grow in confidence.

When Drew first arrived in foster care, everything felt overwhelming. New environments, sudden noises and unexpected movements left him feeling unsure, and he struggled to trust the humans around him. We recognised how sensitive he was and gave him the greatest gift of all, time and patience. Drew was allowed to settle at his own pace, letting him choose when he was ready to take a step forward.

And what a transformation it has been. Once he realised he was safe, Drew’s gentle curiosity began to blossom. He started to explore his new surroundings, taking in the world with cautious but growing interest. That little spark of bravery has grown each day, and now Drew has found joy in the simple pleasures of pet life. He loves heading into the backyard for a wander, gets excited when the lead comes out for a walk, and has even discovered toys. Watching him proudly carry them back to his bed is nothing short of adorable.

Most of all, Drew has learned the joy of human connection. Though quick movements can still make him pause, he quickly bounces back and leans in with the sweetest affection. He now loves climbing onto the bed for snuggles and is perfectly content being left alone for a few hours. He has happilybeen living alongside other greyhounds, an energy ball of whippet and even a little barky Jack Russell.

Drew has not had one toilet accident in the house and sleeps through the night without making a sound.

We believe Drew will thrive in a quieter home and suburb. Having another dog in the home could help his confidence, but is not a must, as he is seeking most confidence from his human.

Sensitive dogs like Drew may ask for a little extra patience at first, but the trust and love they give in return is truly unmatched.

Drew is one of a kind, and the family lucky enough to call him their own will gain a loyal, affectionate companion for life.
