About Blair
Hi! I’m Blair and I’m looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR BLAIR
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/Tdjv8AR95Fd57H6u6
NOTE: You are unable to meet Blair until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Blair in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• I like both friendly male and female dogs
• A submissive doggie playmate would be great, if not then lots of socialising with other dogs
• I appeared scared of cats when meeting them at the shelter however once my confidence around them grows I might be more inquisitive. If going to a home with a cat they must be dog savvy, and we must be introduced slowly
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• A family who promises to keep me well-groomed and brush me regularly so I’m always looking and feeling my best
• Lots of love and attention
• No young children as I can be a bit shy in new situations and with new people and little ones may accidently scare me. Older children who will be involved with my training should be ok
• I am a clever, young and active doggo - I would be great for dog training, trick training, agility etc
• TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING. It's ESSENTIAL I receive training in all aspects of my life so I can be the best dog I can be when I'm older.
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence
• Large breed experience is a MUST; I am going to be big when full grown!!
My best features:
• Very playful
• Wiggle butt
• Highly food motivated
• Gentle and placid
• I can sit, shake hands & lay down
• I have had some basic obedience training and am a generally well-mannered dog
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• Happy to hang out with other friendly dogs
• Social butterfly
• I am clever and eager to learn so would love a family who will teach me some cool tricks.
• I appear housetrained
• I LOVE playing fetch
• I love attention, hugs, kisses and head scratches
• Well mannered
• I walk well on lead for a young doggo but having daily walks should help me improve my lead skills
Where I need to improve / Training required:
• I have had basic training. I will require a refresher in full basic training
• Unsure in new situations – more socialising is needed
• I love my food so using treats as a positive reward should make my training easier.
• I need further training on my recall as I can ignore you if you're trying to call me back to you
• I can be strong on the lead at times - training and walking me in a halti or harness may stop this
• I am extremely timid in new situations such as entering a building/home. I MUST have a family who'll allow me inside so I can see it isn't a scary place and to allow my confidence to grow
