About Wesley
🐾 Meet Wesley - Your Future Shadow and Sidekick 🐾
Black German Shepherd Mix
2½ years old.
Available for: Adoption or Foster (subject to foster program requirements)
Born and raised on a rural farm, within his young life Wesley has made the leap from country life to the city lights and back and is now searching for his forever home.
This intelligent and loyal boy is the epitome of the classic German Shepherd spirit- eager to please, quick to learn, and always ready for adventure.
Wesley thrives when he's included in daily life and would suit a home where he can be a true companion, not just a pet. Whether it's a walk, a car ride, or just hanging out in the backyard, Wesley wants to be by your side. He's a puzzle toy master and loves mental stimulation just as much as physical exercise.
What Wesley Needs:
A secure, well-contained backyard with solid fencing
A family willing to invest time in enrichment and training
Slow, positive introductions to being left alone at home
Ideally, someone with breed experience or knowledge
Children aged 10+ or an active older person who can meet his needs
Wesley is dog-social, walks beautifully on lead, and responds well to commands.
But don't be fooled-he's got a cheeky side! Leave him home alone without preparation and he might just channel his inner Ferris Bueller and throw a party.
This boy is a gem waiting to shine in the right home. If you're looking for a smart, loving, and loyal companion who will be your shadow and best mate, Wesley might be the one.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
