About Barney
Introducing Barney, His playful antics and amusing expressions are sure to bring a smile to your face once he’s comfortable in his new surroundings. Though Barney may be a little timid at first, he's incredibly affectionate once he forms a bond with his people.
Barney thrives in a multi-dog home and is known for being both dog-tolerant and social. While he's neutral around other dogs, he appreciates the company of a compatible canine companion to share his space and playtime. He's also suited for a home with dog-savvy kids who understand the importance of patience and gentle interaction, as Barney needs slow introductions to warm up to his new family.
With secure fencing to keep him safe during outdoor explorations, Barney is well-suited for a variety of lifestyles. He's an ideal companion for a full-time worker as he loves his downtime, perfectly content to lounge on the couch until you're ready for some chill time together.
Being naturally alert, Barney is great at informing you of any odd sounds but tends to startle easily, so a calm, predictable environment helps him feel secure. It’s important, however, to remind yourself to take the time to let Barney get to know you at his own pace.
Medical notes
Brachycephalic breed; an animal with a broad, short skull and a correspondingly flattened face and snout, often referred to as a "short-headed" or "flat-faced" breed. Common brachycephalic dog breeds include Pugs, French Bulldogs, English Bulldogs, Boston Terriers, and Boxers. These anatomical features can lead to health problems like breathing difficulties, heat intolerance, and eye issues, with some breeds experiencing these more severely than others. Regular vet visits are required with these breeds.
