About Officer Beanie Small Cat 🧡
Formally known as Officer Beanie Small Cat, this gorgeous boy earned his special name from two of our youngest supporters (shoutout to Annie & Richie!).
We found Beanie at the pound absolutely terrified and completely touch-averse. Since coming into our care, he has made huge progress in learning to trust people - though he’s still on his journey. He is very much like the Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz... brave at heart, but still learning to believe it himself.
From the safety of his crate, Beanie’s true personality shines. He’s incredibly smoochy, loooves pats and will even lean in for little nose kisses. The moment you touch him, he starts purring - even while he's eating. Outside of his comfort zone (his crate), he is easily startled by movement or loud sounds, and will often retreat to hide under the bed or to his crate. His future family will need to be patient, gentle and committed to helping him continue to build confidence.
One thing that brings out the best in Beanie is the company of other cats. He sees other cats and longs to cuddle and play with them. We believe he will thrive in a home with a friendly, confident resident cat to guide him and show him that humans can be safe and loving too.
When relaxed, Officer Beanie is playful, sweet, sensitive and very affectionate. He is a truly special boy waiting for the right family to help him blossom into the brave lion he’s destined to be.
👉Beanie's ideal home:
- A patient family willing to continue confidence-building
- A resident cat who is gentle, social and confident
- An indoor-only environment where Beanie can feel safe

Adoption details
All animals adopted through Out of the Woods Rescue are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea/worm treated and health-checked. We aim to match each animal with a home that suits their needs and personality.
Here’s how our adoption process works:
Submit an application – This helps us get to know you, your household and what you're looking for in a pet.
Phone chat – If your application looks like a potential fit, one of our team members will contact you for a casual phone conversation to answer questions and discuss the animal in more detail.
Meet and greet – You’ll meet the animal in their foster home or another agreed location. If everyone agrees it’s a good match, we can proceed to adoption.
Adoption paperwork and payment – Our adoption fees cover desexing, microchipping, vaccination and parasite treatment.
Once adopted, the animal becomes part of your family. We're still here for post-adoption support if you ever need any help.
We’re committed to ethical adoptions and reserve the right to decline applications if we feel the match isn’t in the best interest of the animal.
