About Charlotte
Meet Charlotte, a dainty little cavoodle lady all wrapped up in a soft coat of curls, and a 100% heart-melter.
At just under 4 years old and weighing in at light 7kgs, Charlotte might be small in stature, but she certainly knows how to make her presence known, in the most charming, potato-like way possible.
Charlotte came into care as an ex-breeding girl and has truly blossomed in her foster home.
Charlotte is what we lovingly call a "professional lounger". She’s not one to bounce off the walls or race around the house; instead, she prefers the finer things in life, a cozy couch, a cool patch of tile, a room with aircon and a view, and ideally, a human close by but not too close.
Charlotte enjoys her independence like a pampered cat who occasionally allows you the honor of a cuddle, especially if she’s being carried or kissed. Her preferred position? Near you, watching you, silently judging your snack choices, and secretly hoping you drop something delicious.
Charlotte is toilet trained, although hasn't used a doggy door in her current foster home, but we believe with her smarts, Charlotte would catch on quickly.
Charlotte isn't crate trained; she doesn't really need to be as she enjoys to free roam.
Charlotte sleeps soundly on the bed at night, claims the couch by day, and has made it quite clear that dog beds simply do not meet her standards.
Charlotte despises being hot and will absolutely find the chilliest corner of your home to flop down and sigh dramatically until you agree to turn on the fan or aircon.
Charlotte is not a fan of strenuous activity, and the perfect walk involves slow-paced "sniffari’s" with plenty of stops for pats from strangers and lots of time to observe the world (and absolutely none of that rushing nonsense!).
Charlotte walks well on a lead, though let’s be honest, she’s more interested in wandering from side to side, getting your legs tangled, and halting suddenly to sniff something that caught her attention.
Charlotte recall is a work in progress unless you’re holding treats , in which case, you are temporarily the most important person in the universe.
She is food motivated to her very core and can always be found supervising meal prep with the intensity of a five-star chef.
Charlotte doesn't play with toys, doesn’t chase balls, and has never been caught doing zoomies, but she’s an expert in relaxation and culinary observation.
Socially, Charlotte gets along well with other dogs of all sizes, mostly observing them with mild interest, and while she doesn’t need another dog around, she’s happy to coexist peacefully.
Charlotte had also been tested with cats and gave them the royal wave of disinterest, though birds are still fun to chase in a slow-motion kind of way.
Charlotte tolerates children and is happy to be patted but prefers calm energy , more of a teens-and-adults kind of girl. As for males ....well, she’s not convinced.
Charlotte is undeniably a girls’ girl, preferring the gentler tones and softer touch of female companionship.
She’s a soft soul with gentle eyes that always look like they’re pleading for just one more treat or one less walk in the sun.
Charlotte has had her vet completed by the rescue including a few teeth removed.
Charlotte doesn't like to be cuddled to sleep, but if you place her beside you and respect her bubble, she’ll happily doze off nearby like a fluffy, low-maintenance teddy bear.
Charlotte is a unique blend of elegance and sass, sweetness, and self-respect. She will quietly steal your heart, demand air conditioning, ignore you unless food is involved, and somehow make you feel like the luckiest person in the world. She’s not your average dog , she’s Charlotte, and she’s perfectly herself.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption - each bio will state if available for adoption - please check before applying.
