About Gilby
🌸 Meet Gilby – A Beautiful Soul Ready for Her Forever Family 🌸
Gilby’s journey hasn’t been an easy one, but her resilience and loving heart shine through in everything she does. This gorgeous girl was rescued from a rural pound, where she was sadly placed on the euthanasia list. To make her story even more heartbreaking, Gilby was pregnant at the time. Thanks to some incredible rescuers, both she and her puppies were saved in time.
Gilby has proven herself to be not only a survivor, but also a dog full of love, gratitude, and joy. She is on the smaller size for a kelpie.
✨ Gilby’s Personality
Gilby is the definition of a happy, affectionate companion. She has a gentle nature and adores being around people, she’ll happily curl up beside you for snuggles, nudging closer just to make sure she’s near. At the same time, she’s full of life and energy. She loves to run, explore, and play, making her the perfect mix of cuddle buddy and adventure partner.
She adores kids and has always been gentle with them. Gilby is also dog-friendly, cat-friendly, and easygoing with other animals, making her a great fit for a variety of households.
🐾 Gilby’s Strengths
Affectionate & Loving – She thrives on human connection and loves cuddles.
Kid-Friendly – Gentle and patient, adored the children she spent time with.
Social – Gets along with both dogs and cats.
Playful & Energetic – Enjoys walks, running, and playing outside.
Quick Learner – Eager to please, has great potential for training or even working dog roles.
Gentle Soul – Despite her rough beginnings, she remains sweet, trusting, and loyal.
💖 Gilby’s Ideal Home
Gilby would love a home where she can be part of the family’s daily activities. She blossoms when she’s included—whether that’s going for a stroll, playing in the backyard, or simply lounging on the couch with her humans.
Because she’s an active girl, she would thrive in a home with:
A secure yard with grass (no units or townhouses).
A patio or pergola (trees don’t provide enough shelter in a storm).
Safe, secure fencing.
A family or person who enjoys both activity and downtime.
Other dogs to play with (though she’d also be happy as the center of attention).
🌟 Why Gilby is Special
What makes Gilby truly special is her resilience and her heart. Despite facing the hardest of circumstances, she has remained nothing but loving, loyal, and forgiving. She’s not an aggressive eater, loves her cuddles, and although she gets excited and a little jumpy at first, she quickly calms down and responds beautifully when guided.
Gilby isn’t just looking for a home—she’s looking for a family to share her joy, cuddles, and zest for life with. She has so much potential, and she’ll give back tenfold the love she receives.
