About Onyx - 12 Week Old Staffy X
Meet Onyx, a sweet, adventurous boy who can’t wait to be your newest best friend! Much like the gemstone Onyx, this little guy absorbs any negative energies around him (it is impossible to have a bad day with this boy around!
Onyx is a 12 week old staffy mix. Being found abandoned, we are quite sure what he is mixed with. He is a confident pup with so much love to give. Onyx loves to be by your side and will even rest his head on your feet whilst you do the dishes. If you’re looking for a best friend with so much love to give then look no further. With this handsome, clumsy man around, your home will always be filled with laughter and love.
Onyx loves to wrestle with his two foster sisters and before snoring and dreaming on the lounge. He has been very well socialised with other puppies and adult dogs, small and large.Onyx has met cats through a fence and showed positive behaviours.
Onyx is a very food motivated boy who is eager to learn. He knows a range of tricks such as; ‘sit’, ‘drop’, ‘spin’, ‘rollover’, and ‘come’ and is doing well with his toilet training. He will need someone committed to continuing his training for leash walking, basic commands, and toilet training.
Onyx sleeps in his crate in his foster carers bedroom and would need to be welcomed inside, especially at night. Onyx would thrive in a home where he can be part of the family, included in day-to-day life, and given plenty of mental stimulation, play, and love.
Onyx needs secure fencing and a yard that is completely puppy proof! This means no under house access, no soft soil to get out under and no choke hazards lying around.
Onyx loves to play with his foster sisters so a home with an adult dog as a teacher, companion, and playmate would be a big bonus for him. If you don’t have another dog to keep him company, then there needs to be someone in the household that doesn’t work full time so he can soak up all the attention to himself.
Onyx’s Summary:
🐾 Expected to be a medium to large sized boy
🐾 Needs someone committed with his ongoing training and teaching him touch is okay
🐾 Needs to be allowed inside as part of the family, especially at night
🐾 Safe, secure yard is a must
🐾 Doggy companion is a bonus or someone in the home that doesn’t work full time
🐾 Showed positive behaviours around cats
🐾 Huge snuggle bug
