About Rodney
Rodney requires the following in his new home:
- A large back yard with room to play and run.
- Another energetic desexed dog (not senior or puppy) in the home to help burn off energy and keep him company.
- To be able to sleep inside of a night he is crate trained.
- To have his mental and physical needs meet.
- Experience in working breed dogs.
- Continued training.
- He would be a good candidate for dog sports as he grows and matures.
- He will need more exercise than just a daily walk around the block.
“Hi I’m Rodney, a handsome red and tan kelpie pup, I’m happy, confident and playful!
I love being outside with room to play and wrestle, and I’m also happy playing on my own with every toy I can find. At night I’ve been sleeping indoors in my crate.
I’m very friendly and have been getting along very well with the resident dog in foster care, if I’m being too playful she lets me know and I listen well. I really want to play with the resident cat, but he isn’t interested so I watch him from a distance. I really want to be involved with whatever you’re up to and I’ll follow you around to help out with all of those important outside jobs.
Typical of my breed, I’m a smart boy who picks up training quickly and shows a natural interest in learning. I’ll need a home that’s committed to continue my training and understands the needs of a kelpie. “

Adoption details
Please note- we do not work on a first in best dressed basis, we assess all applications to choose the home that we believe will best match the animal.
If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home please send us a detailed email us with some information about the people and any other animals in your home as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet.
We are volunteerswho run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require you to travel to meet the animal you are looking to adopt. For dog adoptions, any other dogs in your home musr attend the meet and greet, this enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
We reserve the right to refuse the adoption if we don't believe it's a good match for our animals.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care or we will assist you in finding them a suitable new home, this is a condition thst you agree to when signing our Adoption Agreement.
