About Stormie
The stunning and ever so sweet and gentle Cavalier King Charles girl Stormie is now starting the search for her forever family home.
If you are looking for a sweet little homebody that loves to potter around and be a couch potato …. Sormie is your girl.
Stormie has brought so much joy to her foster parents with her snuggles and the thumping of her perpetually wagging tail. She has been an absolute delight to have around. Stormie is a reserved little girl and will take a little time to warm to strangers
Stormie is very well mannered, and hasn’t shown any signs of being destructive, although she does have a weakness for the odd tissue or lollie wrapper left lying around lol..
Sometimes she gets excitable and will crouch down on the floor like she wants to play and pounce around. She will mouth your hand a little but very gently and is very careful not to use teeth when taking a treat.
She is good around food if you are eating next to her, she likes to have a sniff but generally doesn’t try to take anything off your plate.
She loves to boop noses with you like it’s a game. As her confidence has grown while being in care she has now started doing little Zoomies around the house and yard which are so beautiful to watch.
It seems as though Stormie hasn’t had much, if any, experience walking on a lead. All the sights and sounds and smells are new to her and she gets a bit startled and will constantly stop to take in the new sounds .When going for a walk, she prefers it to be quiet, without the interruption of passing cyclists or people running past her and does get very intimidated by dogs bigger than her off lead and running at her and will panic and want to be picked up so we are not wanting her to go to areas of off lead dogs that will frighten her.
Stormie has access to an outdoor area and likes to take herself out to sunbake and work on her tan throughout the day if the sun’s out. She is happiest just hanging out at home with her people, but is ok if left on her own if needed.
Stormie is such a good girl at bedtime, she has her own bed next to the human bed and will curl up in it with little or no coercion, and will quietly sleep through the night. There have been a couple of occasions where she’s snuck up into the human bed during the night without waking us, and we’ve found her curled up against us the next morning.
She will happily say hello to dogs around her size, but doesn’t take too much interest in them.
Stormie may take some time to feel fully comfortable with new r humans, and will pull away if attempting to pat her around the top of her head until she is familiar with you. She takes a while to warm up and feel comfortable with strangers so we are definitely seeking a calm quiet environment for her.
Stormie is a fussy eater, so we’ve had some trial and error figuring out her diet. She’ll do a little happy dance if she gets a whiff of a roast chicken in the kitchen, but who can blame her?!
Stormie has a lovely, snuggly, silky-soft coat that will require regular grooming and isn't a real fan of this as it's all very new to her. She has been professionally groomed and this was no doubt her first time so taking it slow and gentle is definitely the way to go as she gets used to this new experience.
She is desexed, vaccinated and has recently had four teeth removed, so her dental health is great too
She is fully toilet trained and will go outside before bed, in the morning right after waking, and will take herself out during the day if she has access to a yard. Otherwise she will hover near the door if closed. If it has been raining and the ground is wet she will procrastinate, as prefers going on dry ground.
She often gets pretty stoked with herself after doing a poop and will come back inside and do a happy poop dance …. She's so adorable
Stormie seems to travel well in the car.
Stormie likes being around her people, so ideally she would have someone around most of the time,so would be best suited to a home where someone is home more often than not. .
She will need access to a secure space for toileting and sunbaking. She must be allowed inside at all times.
Stormie takes an interest in small children, but would only be suited to a home with older children, if any, who can be mindful of her personal space. If you already have a calm and gentle similar sized dog, this may be ok subject to a meet and greet, and Stormie’s approval. But we feel she would actually prefer to be an only dog so she gets all of the human attention.
Stormie has been the sweetest, loveliest, gentlest companion – an absolute pleasure to foster – and we want to find the perfect home for her to be loved in.
