Meet Stella,
Stella is a gentle soul with a touch of sass, and she’s searching for a calm, quiet home with experienced cat people who will appreciate her unique personality.
She’s a quiet and independent girl who prefers to take life at her own pace. While she can sometimes be shy or cautious with new things, her curiosity always shines through. Stella is friendly and social, but she’ll also let you know when she needs a little “me time” by simply walking away - no drama, just classic cat style.
Affectionate on her terms, Stella has the perfect mix of sweetness and confidence. She isn’t one for endless games, but she does have one true love - her toy sloth, which she treats like a treasured prize. Watching her with it is enough to melt anyone’s heart.
If you’re after a sweet, steady, and slightly sassy little lady to share your home, Stella just might be the one.
Stella is open to meet kids from 5 years and up. Reason for this is that sometimes she may at times be a little shy when you first meet her and she may need her space until she builds up her confidence in a new home. She will likely need some time to adjust, as she needed time when she first came in to us (think dramatic hunger strikes). Once she is confident, she is affectionate but she doesn't like to be picked up or carried. She prefers all four paws on the ground.
Stella loves to be patted and touched - she enjoys cheek, chin and ear scratches and will head bunt in to your hand for more.
As we cannot test in this environment, we are unsure how Stella would go meeting/living with dogs. This would be up to the discretion of her new owners.
As for cats, Stella previously lived with cats. We encourage anyone with existing cats to do a gradual and supervised introduction over a few days to ensure that both cats have the best chance of becoming friends.
We always encourage cats to be indoor cats. Stella enjoys being inside where she feels safe. If she is outside, it will increase her chances of running away, getting lost, injured, or worse. As an inside cat she can live her best life possible.
Stella has low-range energy levels and is not interested in playing with toys - we have tried, but instead of playing with the toys she looks mildly offended instead. But this may change as she settles into a new home and new routine. Instead of playing she likes to cuddle her toy sloth.
Stella is not fussy with her food, but as mentioned before, she went on a bit of a hunger strike when she first came in to us - she was probably feeling a little stressed with a change in environment after being surrendered to us. But since she has settled in she has had no issues eating any food offered to her.
Staff Comments: Stella is sweet, quiet and sensitive. She loves attention, but new people can bring out her timidity. It doesn't take her long to warm up though. As long as she has her toy sloth she is happy and content. She's got sass that we love and is a special girl whose ready for her new home to settle in to.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
