At 1 year and 5 months old, Dexter is still learning that the world can be a safe and gentle place. He is nervous around new people and unfamiliar environments, so shelter life has been quite overwhelming for him. Behind the cautious stares and grumbly ginger expressions is a sensitive boy who simply needs patience, understanding, and a calm place to finally exhale.

Dexter came from a previous home where he struggled to settle, finding change and unfamiliar situations difficult to cope with. Because of this, he is looking for a quiet adult-only home with kind humans who will allow him to move at his own pace. Dexter is not the kind of cat who will burst into your arms on day one. He is the kind who needs time, gentle voices, and steady love. But those are often the cats who form the deepest bonds of all 🌙
