**************************************************************
Meet Claire, a stunning calico with a heart full of potential. Found nearly a year ago behind a butcher shop amidst a large colony of cats, Claire has carved out her own kind and gentle space. While she has been living amongst some timid companions, Claire herself is friendly and welcoming. She enjoys a good pet, and we're confident that with time and patience, she may grow more comfortable with being picked up. Claire seamlessly gets along with other affectionate felines and would thrive in a household with a welcoming fur sibling.
Claire is not just about looks; she harbors a resilience that is heartwarming. Her unique eye condition, known as Persistent Pupillary Membrane (PPM), is something she manages. It doesnât interfere significantly with her daily life but might necessitate her staying indoors. What she truly desires is a home where she can be cherished, basking in love and attention. With the right owner, Claire is sure to thrive, offering affection and companionship in return.
If you're seeking a cat with both beauty and personality, Claire is eagerly waiting to become your loyal companion. She's ready for a relationship where she is treasured and can offer love in abundance. Her gentle nature and striking appearance make Claire not just a pet but a special friend deserving of a forever family.

Medical notes
Claire has Persistent Pupillary Membrane (PPM)
What Are Persistent Pupillary Membranes (PPMs)?
PPMs are thin strands of tissue in a catâs eye that remain from before birth. These strands are part of a structure that helps nourish the developing eye in kittens. Normally, this tissue disappears shortly after birth, but in some cats, it stays â that's when it's called persistent pupillary membrane.
---
What Do They Look Like?
PPMs appear as tiny strands or threads inside the eye, often stretching across the pupil (the dark central part of the eye). They may look like:
· Fine spider-web-like threads
· Strands crossing the pupil
· Strands connecting parts of the iris (colored part of the eye)
They can occur in one or both eyes.
---
Are PPMs Harmful?
â Usually not. Most cats with PPMs do not experience any pain or vision problems.
However, in some cases, PPMs may:
· Attach to the lens or cornea, potentially causing cloudiness
· Affect vision if the strands are dense or poorly positioned
· Be associated with other eye abnormalities in rare cases
---
Causes
PPMs are congenital, meaning a cat is born with them. They are a developmental condition, not caused by injury or infection.
Some cat breeds may be more prone to PPMs, and it may be inherited in some cases.
---
How Are PPMs Diagnosed?
A veterinarian or veterinary ophthalmologist can diagnose PPMs during a routine eye exam using a special light (ophthalmoscope).
---
Is Treatment Needed?
đ« In most cases, treatment isnât necessary. Cats with minor PPMs live normal lives without intervention.
If PPMs are causing complications (like cataracts or vision issues), your vet may recommend:
· Monitoring the condition
· Eye drops (in rare cases to reduce secondary issues)
· Referral to a veterinary eye specialist
