About Rain
Introducing Rain, a gentle and loving 3-year-old female Shar-Pei who is looking for a family to give her the care, patience, and love she truly deserves. Rain has come a long way since joining Animal Aid, and while she's still learning to trust, she's ready to find a forever home where she can continue to heal and thrive.
Personality: Rain has a calm and reserved nature, but she has a heart full of potential. She is still learning what it means to be loved, having come from a background of mistreatment. While she's shy and cautious, Rain has made great progress with the help of the caring Animal Aid staff, and she's slowly discovering that the world can be a kind and safe place.
Rain's Journey:
When Rain first arrived at Animal Aid, she was severely underweight at just 13kg. Through dedicated care and attention, Rain has made tremendous strides and is now gaining weight and getting healthier every day. Despite her past, she is learning to trust the people around her, and with time, Rain will bond deeply with her forever family.
What Rain Needs:
Rain will need a home where her new owners have experience with Shar-Pei or similar breeds. Patience and understanding are key, as Rain's past trauma means she's still learning to feel safe and loved in a home environment. She's the kind of dog who will flourish with quiet, gentle guidance. She would suit a calm and loving family, ideally in a quiet home where she can feel secure and continue her healing journey.
Rain may be open to living with another dog, especially if they're calm and can show her how to feel comfortable in a multi-pet home. However, any potential adopters must be prepared for the time it takes for Rain to adjust and form a bond.
Rain has had a few surgeries as part of her medical care, but she is recovering well. While she is a resilient girl, her past means that she requires a little extra TLC. Rain's skin folds, like many Shar-Pei, will need regular cleaning and care to keep her comfortable and healthy.
She's looking for an experienced, patient adopter who can offer her the love and care she needs to become the happy and trusting companion she deserves to be. If you're looking for a sweet, quiet dog to share your home with and are prepared for a loving, gradual bond, Rain could be the perfect fit!
