About Bindi
Hi! I’m Bindi and I’m looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR BINDI
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/mYm2BQKmcCVBXizZ6
NOTE: You are unable to meet Bindi until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Bindi in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• BREED EXPERIENCE IS A MUST
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family and not left outside 24/7 with no interaction.
• A doggie playmate would be great, if not then lots of socialising with other dogs
• I like both friendly male and female dogs
• I appeared scared of cats when meeting them at the shelter however once my confidence around them grows I might be more inquisitive. If going to a home with a cat they must be dog savvy, and we must be introduced slowly.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention
• I have previously lived with young children
• Short regular walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• SOCIALISATION is as important as training. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will ensure I grow into a social and well-adjusted dog.
• TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING. It's ESSENTIAL I receive training in all aspects of my life so I can be the best dog I can be when I'm older.
My best features:
• Wiggle butt
• Highly food motivated
• I can sit, shake hands & stay
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• I know my basic doggie commands
• Happy to hang out with other friendly dogs
• Housetrained and used to being allowed inside
Where I need to improve / Training required:
• I love my food so using it as a positive reward should make my training easier.
• I am scared of thunder & fireworks and will bark & whine. I will require a safe space to retreat to during these events as well as comfort and reassurance from my family.
• I walk well on lead, unless I want to go in another direction, then I tend to pull harder
Medical notes
Brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome (BOAS), common in French Bulldogs.
Elongated and/or thickened soft palate - where the soft patate is too long and/or too thick.
In these cases the soft palate is excessively long allowing it to sit within the opening of the trachea (windpipe) and thus obstructs normal airflow.
Surgery may be recommended in the future which will be the responsibility of the new owner.
