About Fennel
Meet Fennel, a 2-year-old who's traded in his streetwise
days for a new gig as a professional cuddle enthusiast.
He may come across a little shy at first, but don't be fooled-underneath that cautious
exterior is a total softie who loves love.
Once he knows you're the real deal, he'll lean in for pats, head bumps, and all the affection you've got to give.
Fennel is also highly food-motivated, which makes winning him over
delightfully easy: treats = instant friendship.
He's the kind of cat who'll politely remind you when it's snack o'clock and then reward you with smooches for being such a good human.
With his gentle nature and love of both affection and food, Fennel is
ready to find a home that will let him blossom into the smoochy, loyal,
treat-powered companion he's meant to be.
Adopt Fennel, and you'll gain a sweet, snack-loving sidekick who
proves that sometimes the shyest cats have the biggest hearts.
To book a meet and greet please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au .
Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
