Hi, I’m Marmalade!

My story started a little sadly – I was abandoned at a vet clinic – but now I’m safe in foster care and learning what home life is all about. I’m a curious girl who loves to explore and investigate every corner of the house. My favourite spot is sitting by the window, keeping an eye on the butcher birds out on the verandah.

Last night, I surprised my foster family! I hopped up on the lounge, strolled over to my foster dog-sister Bonnie while she was sleeping, and gave her a gentle whack on the head with my paw. Then I calmly jumped down as if nothing happened. Was it an invitation to play, a sign of affection, or just me testing the waters? Who knows – but I definitely keep everyone on their toes!

When it comes to other pets, I have lived with other cats peacefully, and I tolerate quiet dogs just fine. I could happily be an only pet, though I wouldn’t mind a friendly playmate either. I’d also be okay with gentle children who understand how to respect a cat’s space. With new people, I’m shy and reserved at first, but once I trust you, I’ll happily curl up in your arms, purring away.

My favourite game is chasing the ball around my round toy – I can do that for ages! I’m perfectly litter-trained, and while I can be a bit reserved, there’s one sure way to win me over: kangaroo meat. I’ll even eat it straight from your hand. I want to be close, but I’m still learning to trust fully, so patience and a quiet approach will help me bloom.

I may not be the boldest cat, but I have a gentle, quirky nature that makes me very special. I’m looking for a loving forever home where I can feel safe, grow in confidence, and bring a little surprise and joy to every day.
