About Oscar
š¾ Second Chance September: Meet Oscar š¾
To adopt means recognising that not every animal comes to us as a playful kitten or a bundle of endless energy. Some arrive carrying stories we cannot fully know, with cautious hearts shaped by experience. They are past the early days when everything is new, yet still have so much to give, a love that is quieter, trust that is earned slowly, and companionship that deepens over time. Choosing to bring one of these animals into your life is not just welcoming a pet but saving a life. For many young adult cats, adoption is the difference between spending a lifetime in foster care or finally finding a place to call home. It is a commitment to patience, understanding, and discovering a connection that is quietly powerful and deeply rewarding.
Oscar is a soft and sweet one-year-old cat with a gentle nature and a curious spirit. Just over one year old, he is past the chaos of kittenhood but still full of potential and affection, waiting for the right home where he can truly feel safe and loved.
He enjoys gentle cuddles from head to tail, often finishing them with a luxurious stretch and a well earned snack. Oscar is still learning how to play and is slowly warming up to his little stringy toy, but what really makes him irresistible is the little spot under his chin. Just one look and you will be smitten.
Oscar's favourite pastimes include relaxing in cosy hiding spots, especially the bottom cubby of his cat tower, and soaking up gentle attention on his own terms. When he feels comfortable, he will quietly leave his safe spot just to be close to you and enjoy some affectionate pats.
He would thrive in a peaceful home where he can continue to build trust and deepen the bond with his person. Oscar is not used to living with other animals or children, and would likely do best in a calm environment where he can be the quiet centre of someone's world.
If you are looking for a calm affectionate companion and have the patience to let a shy soul blossom in your care, Oscar is waiting for you.
Please note: Due to his fair skin, Oscar will need to be an indoor only cat for his safety. Cats with light coloured noses and ears are more vulnerable to sunburn and skin cancer.
All AWL NSW kittens and cats come litter trained desexed microchipped and will have received their first vaccination.
