About Luna
Once a wary little mum with five puppies in tow, Luna has come such a long way in foster care. Arriving cautious and unsure, she’s slowly but surely let her guard down — and in true Chihuahua style, once she bonds with her people, you’re golden.
Under 4kg, Luna might be small, but she has a huge heart and a strong sense of who her people are. She’s affectionate, playful, and incredibly loyal once trust is earned. Now that her pups are off living their own lives, Luna is ready to enjoy a life of love, comfort, and lap time.
🏡 Luna’s Ideal Home
Luna is looking for a calm, adult-only home or a family with older teens who understand and respect small dog boundaries. Ideally, her new family will have some experience with small or shy dogs, and can give her the time she needs to settle in and build trust at her own pace. Best with humans around more often then not, wither wfh or a newly retired family would be perfect.
She’d love a home where someone is around often, but she’s also independent enough to settle on her own once she’s comfortable. Luna would be just as happy in a dog-safe apartment or a secure home with a yard as long as there’s a cozy bed, a lap to curl up in, and people who treat her gently.
🐶 Other Pets
With a gentle and gradual introduction, Luna is fine with other small dogs, especially those who are calm and not too pushy. She prefers polite doggy friends who respect her space and doesn’t enjoy being overwhelmed.
She has previously lived with a cat and could likely again, if they were bold and could up with the occasional shenanigans.
⚡ Energy Level
Luna loves her bursts of energy — she enjoys a little zoom around the yard or a stroll where she can sniff to her heart’s content — but she’s not a high-energy dog. After her short adventures, she’s more than happy to snuggle up and supervise your day from a sunspot or soft blanket.
👶 Suitability to Children
Luna would do best in a home without young children. She prefers a peaceful, predictable environment, where her space and cues are respected. Dog-savvy teens or a quiet adult household would suit her best.
💕 The Real Luna
Luna is a gentle, loving, and loyal little lady who’s been through a lot raising five puppies and navigating the big, new world of human trust. But for the right person or family, she’s ready to blossom. Give her patience, kindness, and a little space at the start, and she’ll reward you with endless love, snuggles, and devotion.

We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
