Hi, I'm Kovu!

I'm a sweet, shy, and curious little pup who's looking for a loving and patient family to help me grow into the confident dog I know I can be.

Sometimes new places and new people can feel overwhelming for me, so I'll need slow introductions and the freedom to approach in my own time. I can also be a little wary of touch, but I'm learning every day that hands can mean kindness, safety, and even treats! With patience and gentle encouragement, I'll learn to trust more and more.

What I really need is a calm, predictable home where I'm allowed indoors to be part of the family. Crate training would also be wonderful for me-it would give me a safe space to retreat to if I ever feel unsure. I'm still learning how to walk on a lead too, so I'll need my new family to go slowly with me, using positive reinforcement to help me gain confidence step by step.

I'd be best suited to a home with calm, respectful older kids (we can meet at the time of adoption to make sure it's a good match). My confidence really blossoms when I'm with my siblings or other puppies, so I may also benefit from living with a well-adjusted, calm dog who can show me the ropes and help me feel safe. We'd just need to meet first to make sure we're a good fit.

One thing I'd like to avoid for now is dog parks and busy, high-traffic areas, as these can feel overwhelming. With time, love, and patience, though, I know I'll keep growing braver each day.
