Meet Thickshake,
Thickshake is as delightful as her name suggests! This stunning girl is gentle, friendly, and full of happy energy. She has a playful and excitable nature that makes her a wonderful match for active people or families who enjoy having a lively, affectionate dog by their side.
Thickshake is adaptable and could settle into many different household environments, though she’d feel most comfortable in a calm and quiet home. She’s a social sweetheart who loves to engage with people and will happily soak up your affection. With her mix of beauty, charm, and lovable personality, Thickshake is sure to brighten every day with her presence.
Ideal Home: Thickshake is suitable to live in either a townhouse, standalone home or on a farm/acerage, with a medium to large sized yard and high secure fencing.
Family: Thickshake is open to meet kids of any age as long as they are dog savvy.
Thickshake is fine to live with people who work full-time hours as she shows no signs of separation anxiety. She is able to spend time in the yard on her own, but would also love to be inside with her new family too.
Furry Friends: Thickshake is open to meet other dogs. During her dog assessment she had a loose body and a very happy tail, constantly wagging. She offered lots of play bows and was able to initiate play. She has a play style similar to a puppy but is also fairly gentle when playing, too. Despite her excitement of the other dog, she was able to check in with her trainer, offering sits in exchange for treats and praise. She is a smart girl and very trainable.
Thickshake is not suitable to live with cats.
Training & Development: Thickshake would benefit from post-adoption training such as training at home to cover basic commands/obedience.
When excited, Thickshake may jump on you to show you how happy she is.
With additional training and time to settle into a new routine Thickshake could be the type of dog that you could take to a dog friendly café or social setting.
Thickshake is still learning her name, but she knows commands such as: sit and down. She also knows loose lead walking.
Thickshake is food motivated too - having treats on you during training to mark good behaviour would be an excellent idea as he is very responsive to them. She always takes treats from you gently too.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Thickshake has mid-range energy needs & would benefit from exercise, play, or walks from 20-30mins a day to keep her healthy and happy. Thickshake enjoys playing with soft toys. She prefers going for walks, socialising with other dogs and people and enjoys personal play with her handlers and of course, she loves cuddles!
Thickshake walks well on lead, but needs a little bit of time to settle after the excitement of a walk at the start, after she settles she is able to loose lead walk without any pulling and every day her walking is improving. She's actually a delight to walk if be a being totally honest! She can be walked on any walking apparatus.
Staff Comments: Thickshake is a very affectionate girl. She is responsive to training and loves being around you and making friends. She gets the funniest zoomies and enjoys being apart of your world.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
The adoption fee for dogs covers C5 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
