Meet Eady,
Eady is a bright, bubbly pup with a whole lot of love to share! Still young, she’s ready to take on the world and would thrive with puppy school and ongoing training to help her grow into her best self. Luckily, her smarts and her love of food make learning new things fun and easy.
Eady is adaptable and would fit in well with just about any household. She’s gentle, independent, and friendly, while also being confident, playful, and social with both people and other dogs. Outgoing and affectionate, Eady would be a wonderful match for active families or individuals who are looking for a happy, engaging pup to include in their daily adventures.
Ideal Home: Eady is fine to live in either a townhouse, standalone home, or farm/acerage with a medium-large yard and high, secure fencing.
Family: Eady is open to meet kids of any age. But kids in the home should be kid savvy - children are something new to Eady, so she can be a little shy around them when she meets them.
Eady is fine to live with people who work full-time hours as she shows no signs of separation anxiety. She is able to spend time in the yard on her own, but would also love to be inside with her new family too.
Furry Friends: Eady is open to meet other dogs. She is young, eager to interact and make friends - she loves playing with her siblings and has made friends with other dogs at the ACF too. She can be a little rough when playing, and she isn't afraid to make some noises to show you how happy she is to make friends and play.
As we cannot test in this environment, we are unsure how Eady would go living with/meeting cats and pocket pets. This would be up to the discretion of her new owners.
Training & Development: Eady would benefit from post-adoption training such as training at home to cover basic commands/obedience. Group classes should also be considered so that she can continue to learn manners when interacting and playing with other dogs. Eady should be enrolled into puppy training classes as soon as she is adopted. These classes & training will set her up for life and will allow her to learn social skills & etiquette, as well as define her manners. These classes & training will also teach her how to appropriately interact with other dogs as well as other animals & people. These training classes will also assist her new owner, as they can both learn new skills together.
With additional training and time to settle into a new routine, Eady could be the type of dog that you can take to a dog friendly café or social setting.
Eady knows her name and she also knows commands such as sit. She sits very well, and she is eager to learn more.
She is food motivated and is gentle when taking treats from you - so having treats on you during training to mark good behaviour would be an excellent idea. She is very responsive to treats.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Eady, being young, has mid-range energy needs & would benefit from exercise, play, or walks from 20-30mins a day to keep her healthy and happy. Eady like to play with toys - she really likes soft toys - she also likes going for walks, doing social time and playing with other dogs, and personal play with her handlers.
Eady walks well on lead with minimal pulling. She is fine to be walked on any apparatus.
Staff Comments: Eady is super affectionate and so very smart. She will always offer a sit for you and we must admit that she does a very good sit! She is very trainable too. Eady is still young and had a rough start to life. When she and her litter mates arrived at our facility, they were all heartbreakingly underweight and under socialised. Eady has grown into such a wonderful girl and we are so excited for her to find her new home.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
