Meet Duke

While he might be large in size this gentle giant will warm your heart . We don’t know a lot about where he came from, but what we do know is that Duke is intelligent, playful, calm and well mannered. He came into care knowing basic commands like sit and no and quickly learnt that he’s not allowed to eat the cat food, sleep soundly in a crate and to toilet outside. With minimal training he also picked up stay, wait, out and his new name within a few days !

Duke’s favourite things to do involves cuddling up on the couch , sleeping, playing and of course food . He is treat motivated when it comes to training but can sometimes get too excited by the prospect of a delicious snack and become distracted.

Duke is overall a very calm natured boy, though he does occasionally get a bit over excited and while he can be jumpy he will very seldom jump on you (and when he does, he does so gently). When he’s excited he will jump up next to you and potentially do a somersault. It’s for this reason we think older children or no children in the home would be best.
