Sadie is a sensitive little girl who needs an extra special, understanding home. Sadie is only a young dog but has picked up some quirks. She is nervous when meeting new people and places. She is an excellent guard dog and will bark to alert you to any potential threats or risks. However without the right guidance she can bark too much. She doesn’t bark without reason, but it is important she understands her job with lots of guidance. Without guidance and understanding, Sadie would easily become a persistent nuisance barker and therefore needs an experienced person with patience and good leadership to create the right type of environment for Sadie to feel relaxed and comfortable. Without effective leadership Sadie will become worried and take over with undesirable behaviour.
Sadie would be best suited to an adult only home although she has lived with children, her behaviour will be more easily guided without children in the household. Sadie can be friendly and a funny character with the right people.
Sadie loves going on walks and looks forward to this fun time everyday. She is happiest when out and about walking on trails or bush tracks. Sadie is ok with other dogs but will warn off larger dogs or dogs that get too boisterous around her. Mostly she ignores other dogs but does like some she meets and can happily coexist with another small dog, however she is quite independent so would be happy as an only dog too.
Sadie originally didn’t learn correct house training so she has only recently learned not to toilet in the house. She now happily sleeps in her crate at night. We expect she may regress when transferring to a new home so suitable adopters would have to maintain her training and not be disappointed by toileting accidents.
Sadie needs a caring home with experienced adults who understand nervous dogs and are prepared to put in the time and effort to help her be her best little self.
