Cotton Eye Joe is a sweet boy with a big heart and a gentle soul. He absolutely loves cosy beds, chin scratches, and quiet companionship. He took some time to settle in and trust the humans at the shelter, and he will also take a while to feel safe in his forever home. He is looking for calm home prepared to give him the time and patience he needs to overcome his nerves and settle in.

This calm-natured boy is absolutely worth the wait – he has started to show off his personality more to his human friends at the shelter and has proved himself to be friendly and loving. He would be content in his forever home to soak up attention with gentle pets or simply relaxing in each others company. At 9 months old, he’s just entering his adult years. He’s past the kitten chaos and is the perfect mix of energy and maturity.

Because Cotton Eye Joe can be nervous to start, he’ll need a home with someone who understands shy or anxious cats. He may start off nervous or scared, but with patience, consistency, and understanding, he’ll begin to feel safe and show his affectionate side.

He is looking for an indoor-only home, with adults or older cat-savvy kids. He might enjoy the company of another calm, friendly cat with a slow and carefully managed introduction.
