About Kaizen
I WILL BE AVAILABLE ON SATURDAY 30TH AUGUST AT THE PUPPY ADOPTION DAY HELD AT THE NORTH MELBOURNE LOST DOGS HOME.
Introducing Kaizen!
Kaizen is a sweet and gentle Maremma with a naturally timid personality, which is typical for the breed, he just needs a little time and patience to warm up to new people. He's great with other animals, crate trained, and doing well with his toilet training, though he does need to be taken outside regularly as he's still building bladder strength. True to his breed, he's very observant and thoughtful, especially on walks, where he's still getting used to the outside world. With a calm environment and understanding of the Maremma's independent nature, he will grow into a loyal and loving companion.
Kaizen is a Guardian Livestock Dog and adopting a Maremma Sheepdog puppy is a rewarding experience, but it comes with specific responsibilities. These loyal, independent, and protective dogs were bred to guard livestock, so they require ample space, ideally a rural or farm environment where they can roam and have a job to do. Early socialization and consistent training are crucial to help them develop into well-mannered companions. Prospective owners should be prepared for a strong-willed breed that thrives with purpose and clear boundaries. A secure, fenced area and commitment to their mental and physical needs are essential for a happy, healthy Maremma.
Puppies require patience, routine and consistency. They are still learning about toilet training, how to be polite and how to be on their own. This little puppy is still young and needs guidance to grow and thrive. We recommend that they get put into puppy school to help with socialisation as soon as possible. We also recommend that you use treats and toys to help reassure your puppy of the right way to be a dog.
All of our puppies are fed on premium Royal Canin food while at the Shelter and in foster. We recommend that you purchase a bag at the time of adoption (40% off from our friends at Royal Canin) so your new best friend can settle in to the home in the best possible way.
This little baby is still growing and learning so needs enrichment and things to keep them busy so they don't get bored at home.. that's when sneaky chewing can happen!
