Introducing Kika, an adorable dachshund and petite 11-year-old canine beauty that is ready to win your heart! Weighing in at just 9.2 kilos, Kika is a spirited and charming girl with a zest for life. She is well taken care of, being desexed, chipped, vaccinated, and wormed, which ensures she's in great health and ready for her new family.
Kika is an intelligent lady who is house-trained and loves a stable environment. With her gentle nature, she is best suited for homes with children over 8 years old. She might be a bit selective with other dogs, so a careful introduction would be ideal if you have other furry pets at home. While we’re unsure of her compatibility with cats, her wonderful temperament might just pleasantly surprise you!
House trained and suitable for apartment living .
This delightful pup thrives in a home with standard secure fencing, providing her with a safe, enclosed space to explore and roam. Knowing Kika's calm nature and affectionate disposition, she’s sure to be a loving companion who will dedicate all her years of wisdom and friendship to her family in Merrimac or surrounding areas.
Kika is available for adoption for $495, a valuable investment for a loving and loyal companion who will fill your home with love and joy. If you're ready to open your heart to this little gem, she is eager to bring her warmth and loyalty to your life. Here are some quick tips to make your APPLICATION stand out:
Include as many details as you can about your lifestyle, family, accommodation, and work. Here’s some first-hand feedback from our member rescue organisations about what they'd like to see in your applications:
🐱 Why would this animal suit your home? (This lets them know that you've read the pet’s bio and considered their personality vs. your lifestyle)
🐾 Details about your family
🏡 Is your home quiet/relaxed or loud/busy? (Particularly important for timid cats). Ask questions, to show your are interested in the animals ell being.
Add questions into the application.
Fill out the profiles of your current pets if you have any. Understanding the personality of resident cats and dogs will help rescue organisations or foster carers determine if the pet will adjust to your surroundings.
Remember to be respectful and kind in your enquiries. A simple greeting can go a long way! Behind that screen is a real hooman, who loves and cares for the pet you're enquiring about just as much as you will!
Be open and honest - rescues prefer having as much information as they can about potential adopters.
An adoption fee applies to each animal to cover only the basic veterinary procedures, and each adoption goes out on a 21 day settling in period, if the dog is returned in this period, and you’ve spoken to our trainer for assistance, and the dog is returned in good health, mentally and physically, and all their belongings and paperwork are returned, then we provide a refund less $50 admin fee. This is not a trial, but in case of any unknown or unforeseen circumstances.
The adoption process is as follows
✅Everyone that lives in the home will meet the dog with the carer
✅We ask everyone go home again and discuss and think about overnight and contact us the next day
✅This also gives the carer a chance to think about suitability
✅Then if everyone agrees we then require a home inspection, or at least photos of the home yard and fences.
✅Then the adoption fee is paid and once that clears our account you are free to arrange with the carer to collect
✅The adoption paperwork comes out in 14 days in which time you are required to register and change chip over
