About Onion
Meet Onion - The Tabby with Layers of Love! 🧅🐾
Like his namesake, Onion isn't just any ordinary kitty - he's got layers. Layers of charm, layers of cuddles, and layers of purr-sonality just waiting to be peeled back by the right person!
This 8-month-old grey tabby boy is a sweet and soulful little guy with a soft heart and an even softer coat. Whether you're living in a castle, a cozy swamp, a city apartment, or a rural cottage, Onion fits right in. He's flexible, friendly, and perfectly content as long as he has your love (and a sunny spot to nap in).
Don't let the name fool you - Onion won't bring tears to your eyes, unless you're tearing up from joy. He's affectionate but not clingy, playful but not wild, and curious about everything (yes, even waffles). He'd do great in a home with other animals or flying solo - he's a real ogre-achiever when it comes to making friends!
And yes - if you've ever felt like no one truly understands you... Onion gets it. Like our favorite green ogre once said:
"Ogres are like onions... they have layers!"
So does this boy. Scratch beneath the surface, and you'll find a loyal, loving, and endlessly entertaining companion who's just waiting for his fairy-tale ending.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
