About Drew
Hi All! This is Drew. The kind people rescued him from a regional pound. He had been at the pound for more than a month and was due to be put to sleep when he got rescued.
The ranger said he was a beagle x and said he was 4 months old. We are really unsure what his breed is but he is a very lovely young man.
In the time since Drew came into care he has learnt to use a doggy door, play nicely with the other dogs in care. He is happy to curl up on the bed.
For a young pup Drew is very well behaved. At the moment he is not like other typical young pups. He is not chewing up anything other than his toys. He loves a cuddle and scratch around the head. When he gets excited and starts to jump, you tell him to get down and he listens.
He loves his food and eats it slowly. He was a little thin when he first came into care but he is filling out nicely.
The type of home Drew would thrive in would be one where his owners will take him to puppy school to teach him more skills such as walking on a lead.
Like any young dog, they need routine and structure all wrapped up with love in their life to be the best dog they can be.
Drew loves toys and drags the dog toy box across the floor to then proceed to find the toys he wants to play with.
If you talk to Drew, he does the cute little head tilt like he is trying to understand what you are saying.
Drew has not been tested around children but the current household has cats. These cats are lazy and lay around. He will occasionally sniff at them but shows no interest. But being a young boy, chances are, with proper introductions he will be ok.
Drew would be well suited to a home with another playful dog but isn't essential.
