About Rooftop
Hello Rooftop!
Coming from a rural property where he lived with several other dogs, he arrived in foster care unsure and matted, after a fresh groom and some TLC, he’s blossomed into a handsome, affectionate little companion.
Since landing in his first real home, Rooftop has bonded strongly with his foster mum and loves nothing more than curling up close by. He’s working on his independence and now sleeps happily in his crate overnight.
Rooftop appears toilet trained when given plenty of opportunities to go outside, has recently learnt to walk nicely on lead, and has been very responsive to his new name. While some sights and sounds can sometimes spook him when out his confidence is growing each day.
Rooftop is a gentle, loyal little dog who’s ready for his forever family. If you’re looking for a cuddly companion with a huge heart, Rooftop will happily take up a spot on your couch and in your life🐾
IDEAL HOME: Rooftop would thrive in a home in a quieter area with someone around for most of the day, at least to begin with, while he continues building his independence . Apartment living may not be the best fit for him, as he does let out a few sweet little howls when left alone.
He’s a low-energy boy who will be content with a short daily stroll and plenty of time to relax with his humans. Rooftop may also enjoy the companionship of another small, gentle dog to keep him company and help him settle into his new life.
Above all, Rooftop’s perfect match will be a kind, patient adopter who can offer him the security, love, and structure he deserves. 💛
ENERGY LEVEL: Rooftop is a low-energy boy who loves nothing more than lounging around , whether that’s curling up under the blankets, perching on the chair opposite you, or snoozing on the lounge. A short daily walk helps him settle, especially before being left alone, and he’s content to spend the rest of his day relaxing close by.
While he’s happiest being a little shadow, Rooftop also enjoys the occasional play session with other dogs, showing his fun and social side when the mood strikes.
CHILDREN: Rooftop hasn’t officially met any children while in care, but he has been very friendly with all the adults he’s met. He tends to be more confident with the sounds and unpredictability of home life than out in new environments.
With a successful meet and greet, Rooftop could happily live with children who are gentle and respectful of his space.
CATS AND DOGS: Rooftop is currently in foster care with a variety of dogs, from small to large, and has been very good with all of them. Given his small and delicate size, he would likely be best suited to a home with another small breed companion, as the bigger dogs can accidentally bump or step on him.
Rooftop has also been tested with cats. While he showed little interest in approaching, he may be able to coexist peacefully with a cat that also prefers to keep its distance.

We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
