About Chester - 6 Month Old Ridgeback X
Chester is a lap dog who absolutely adores people and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. While he can appear timid in the outside world, he’s making progress and genuinely enjoys walks in quieter areas, walking nicely on a lead. Chester is gradually getting used to busier places, but he’ll need more exposure in short, manageable bursts to build his confidence.
He is a loving companion who’s eager to please his humans. He’s very calm and peaceful when he’s at home. Given his gentle nature, Chester benefits from predictable routines and careful, positive reinforcement to help him feel secure and happy.
Chester knows some great commands like sit, cone, and wait, showcasing his willingness to learn and connect. He’s pretty food motivated – he loves treats and responds well to positive reinforcement.
Chester sleeps soundly through the night and without interruption, despite the temptation of his foster siblings being right there to create playful mischief.
Because he thrives on having people around, he will do best where someone’s home most of the time, or he has another dog for company so he’s never alone, even when his humans aren’t there. Small children may be a bit overwhelming, but teenagers would be perfect.
He’s a sweet and affectionate buddy who loves cuddles and being close to his people. Don’t even think about having any personal space if you adopt Chester! He doesn’t really understand he’s a big boy and will sit on your lap to demand cuddle time. But is there such a thing as too much love?
It’s expected that Chester will be a medium-large dog, so will need a good sized yard with secure fencing.
If you’re ready to experience Chester’s unwavering affection, please fill in an adoption application with the link below.
Chester’s adoption fee is $700. He has been desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas, ticks and worms, and is microchipped. Chester is in foster care in Anna Bay, NSW.
