About Monte Carlo
Giant boy Monte Carlo ‘Monty’ was first spotted by one of our volunteers trying to blend in with a feral pigeon flock where he stood out like a sore thumb! This big boy was very food motivated and walked right into a carrier with a little bit of help from some pigeon seed.
Monty is a fancy breed of pigeon known as the French montauben, a breed who in the past, was bred for utility, but now is mostly a show bird. We’re not too sure how Monty ended up so far in the city, but we do know he’s happy to be here! Monty loves to show how excited he is to see you in the mornings with his big sweeping tail and very low flirty coos. He would be happy in most living situations, whether as a single pigeon or with friends, indoors or outdoors.
