Ruby

Sweet Ruby celebrated her first birthday this week, here in BEGA VALLEY foster care, on the FAR South Coast.
Her birthday wish is for a family who will open their heart and home and make her their forever dog.
Ruby is a very gentle and quiet Kelpie X. She does not jump and isn't mouthy at all. She is very active so will need a lot of exercise and stimulation to keep her smart mind stimulated. Ruby has fitted in well with the other dogs at her foster home and is not food aggressive at all. She is not bossy or dominant, she just loves to join in on the action. She would make a great little second dog. At only 12.5kg you can easily pick her up if required.

Ruby has loved the company of one of the Kelpie's in her foster home. You can always find them running around together, playing tug of war and snuggled up on the bed together.
Ruby is fine with cats.
She goes into the hen house to feed the chickens but has not been left unsupervised with them. We feel she would be OK with chickens too.

Ruby is learning basic training, she has pretty good recall, but being a smart little cookie, her new owner will need to be committed to advancing her training.

Ruby sleeps soundly in the laundry all night. Not making a peep. Even if she hears her foster family in the kitchen she does not whine or scratch at the door. She uses her manners and waits calmly to be let out. We believe she has been crate-trained.
