About 12620 - Bertie
š¤š§ø INTRODUCING BERTIE š§øš¤
Nature
Bertie recently found himself at the local pound after living on the streets and was very quickly running out of time and options until the Angels came in and rescued him⦠and boy is he grateful!!
Bertie loves people and all the pats, cuddles and fuss he can get. Heās a complete smooch, loves to be around his people all time and definitely deserves to live his best lap-cat life now.
Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
Bertie adores the resident human toddler and baby and would be fine with kids in his new home, as long as they are cat-savvy and give him his space when he shows he needs it.
Bertie gets along well with the other cats in his home now, but slow introductions are essential as he can take time to get to know them. Bertie also lives with a large puppy - he would be OK with a calm dog who leaves him alone but doesnāt like excitable dogs.
Likes / Dislikes
Bertie loves having lots of cuddles and then finding a warm spot to curl up and have a snooze in. He loves his food and is a perfect gentleman with his litter tray.
He gets a bit scared with loud noises but comes out again once he feels safe.
My PURR-fect home would be one where I am one of the family, where I can really relax with lots of pats and a full tummy. I would be OK with calm furry friends with slow introductions.
Perth Rescue Angels recommends all cats are indoor only, unless they have access to a secure cat enclosure.

12620 - Bertie
Gender: Male
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Tabby
DOB: 01/08/2020
Adoption Fee: $150
*Bertieās adoption fee includes vet check, sterilisation, vaccination, microchip, flea and worm treatment.
Medical Notes: Bertie has Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) which is a virus that can affect his immune system, however, he can still potentially live a long healthy life. FIV is transmitted through deep bite wounds. Due to his FIV Bertie will need to be an indoor only cat. FIV cats can live harmoniously with other cats however slow introductions are required to ensure they do not fight.
Bertie has been diagnosed with a grade 2 heart murmur (an abnormal sound in the heart). Heart murmurs are graded between 1 and 6 with 6 being the worst. Bertieās murmur currently is not causing issues and he is not symptomatic so does not require treatment. Heart murmurs can worsen with time so Bertie will need to have his heart murmur checked at their annual health check.
Bertie had a dental scale and polish in August 2025 with removal of 3 canines.
š¾ Perth Rescue Angels recommends Advantage and Advocate from Elanco Animal Health for all of your new furry family membersā flea and worming needs.
