Meet Freddie,
Freddie is a gentle soul with the softest heart. Freddie is looking for a special someone who understands the needs of a shy and sensitive cat. He’s best suited to an experienced cat owner and a calm, quiet home where he can feel safe and truly relax.
Freddie may be timid at first and is sensitive to noise and new situations, but once he feels comfortable, his sweet and affectionate side shines through. He’s friendly in his own quiet way and is happiest when he can share little moments of connection with you.
One of Freddie’s most treasured possessions is his blanket, which he brought with him when he was surrendered to us. It’s his safe place - he loves to snuggle under it, tucking himself away while softly purring. It’s not just a blanket, it’s his comfort, and it tells you a lot about just how gentle and tender he really is.
If you’re patient, kind, and ready to offer Freddie the safe and loving home he’s been waiting for, you’ll discover a truly sweet cat who will cherish being part of your world.
Freddie is open to meet kids from 10 years and up. Reason for this is that he is a quiet cat whose sensitive to noise and new spaces. He needs time to settle into a new environment and can be nervous at the start. We feel that older kids will be more understanding of his needs. Once he is settled, he is very affectionate and although he doesn't like to be picked up and carried around, he will seek you out for gentle pats, head bunts, ear and chin scratches and he'll gently nuzzle into you to show you his appreciation.
Freddie is not suitable to live with dogs - as we fear they may scare him. He is also not a fan of other cats - so he is best to be the only cat in the home.
We always encourage cats to be indoors. If Freddie is outside, it will increase his chances of running away, getting lost, injured, or worse. As a quiet and shy cat the outside world will be very scary for him. As an inside cat he can live his best life possible and feel safe as well.
Freddie has low-range energy levels and is not interested in playing with toys right now - he prefers to cuddle into his blanket and sleep most of the day - he perks up when he sees you (if he's not covered by his blanket) and will happily meet you at the condo door, patiently waiting for pats, cuddles and nuzzles.
Freddie can be a little fussy with his food but not too fussy - he does tend to graze through out the day.
Staff Comments: Freddie is often misunderstood. He is a very sweet boy, however he is timid and quiet. He spends most of his time snuggled under his big blanket which he loves so much. He was very unsure of his condo space after being surrendered but has gotten more settled as his confidence is growing. He purrs when he sees you and nuzzles into you for pats.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
The adoption fee for dogs covers C5 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
