About Karsha (Kay)
💜 AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION 💜
Karsha (Kay) | 2yrs 4m | Siberian Husky
Located Melbourne
Kay is sweet, gentle, loving girl who has settled well in foster care and is now ready for her forever home.
Kay has good manners around food. She eats Ivory Coat dry food once a day in the evening, about two to three cups, and will sit patiently until told it is time to eat. She loves treats and knows how to sit, stay, shake, wait and drop. She enjoys playing fetch with her favourite squeaky ball and will drop it on command so the game can continue.
She is very easy to walk. Although she can be playful about having her collar and lead put on, once out she walks calmly without pulling and often sits at crossings even without being asked. She is friendly and relaxed around other dogs, including small ones, and greets them with a wagging tail. She has not lived with cats or pocket pets.
Kay is house trained and not destructive. At night she sleeps on her bed near the bedroom and during the day she likes to nap on her favourite chair or couch. She prefers being indoors with her people and is happiest just lounging nearby. She travels well in the car, usually lying down and sleeping until the trip is over.
Her energy levels are low for a husky her age. Two one-hour walks each day are enough to keep her happy. Her zoomies are short, quick bursts and do not happen often. At home she is relaxed, either playing with her toys or settling down for a snooze. She is vocal at times, especially when she knows it is walk time or when she wants to go outside, but is otherwise quiet and easy company.
Kay hasn’t spent time with children whilst in foster care but has been calm and respectful when passing them in public. She does get nervous with sudden or fast movements, so a gentle and predictable environment suits her best. She would be a good match for a family with children over eight, or an adult home where she can be included in daily life.
She is loving, smart and quick to learn, with only a few cheeky habits such as occasional jumping, soft play biting and counter surfing if food is left unattended. These behaviours are improving and she is not destructive in the home.
Kay may be a little shy when first meeting new people, especially men, but with patience she warms up and shows her affectionate, playful side. Once she knows you, she is devoted and loves to be close.
Kay is a beautiful young husky who will make her new family fall in love with her straight away. With her calm nature, intelligence and striking eyes, she is a wonderful companion who deserves the very best home.
