About 4881 - Laguna
🌴🐟 MEET LAGUNA 🐟🌴
Nature
Laguna is an extremely sweet and friendly feline companion. He can be a bit shy around strangers, but will warm to you in no time and show off his purr-sonality. He likes to play with toys and is an absolute fiend for anything catnip. Once he’s ready to settle down, he enjoys hanging out on the couch next to you or on your lap.
Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
Laguna has previously lived with small children who adored him.
Laguna is quite used to sharing his home with other adult cats. He can, at times, behave dominant over more shy kitties, so a slow introduction is a must.
There are no dogs living in his foster home, but he probably wouldn’t be bothered much by them given a slow introduction.
Likes / Dislikes
Whether it’s a pat on the head, a chin scratch, or a belly rub, Laguna will enjoy it all! Be sure to balance out your affection with some stimulating games with a feather wand too.
He’s not a huge fan of being picked up and held, but is more than happy to walk across your keyboard while you’re working. Strangers can be very scary, so a nice dark cave to hide in, when needed, is appreciated.
My PURR-fect home would be indoor-only, low-stress environment with some warm laps to sit on and my favourite treats on hand.
Perth Rescue Angels recommends all cats are indoor only, unless they have access to a secure cat enclosure.

4881 - Laguna
Gender: Male
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: White & Ginger
DOB: 30/01/2021
Adoption Fee: $50 reduced fee due to medical notes
*Laguna’s adoption fee includes vet check, sterilisation, vaccination, microchip, flea and worm treatment
Medical Notes: An ultrasound of the heart shows that Laguna has severe hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), which is a disease where the heart muscle becomes abnormally thickened. In this case, the left ventricle wall is severely thickened, and there is also some thickening of the right ventricle wall.
Laguna has systolic anterior motion (SAM) of the heart valve, which causes turbulent blood flow through the aorta and explains the heart murmur that was detected. The left atrium (one of the heart chambers) is also mildly to moderately enlarged.
Unfortunately, Laguna's prognosis is poor, and this condition is expected to significantly shorten life expectancy. Laguna may still enjoy time in a calm, loving home.
🐾 Perth Rescue Angels recommends Advantage and Advocate from Elanco Animal Health for all of your new furry family members’ flea and worming needs.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
