Adoption information
About Lance
Initially when Lance came into care and was confined to a crate while he recovered from a part mouth extraction (PME) due to being diagnosed with Stomatitis. Lance was friendly although nervous, smoochy and loved to knead his bed whilst purring his little heart out.
Since joining the household, Lance has settled more so into the life of being a "cat's cat" rather than someone who loves on his human(s). Now don't get us wrong, Lance has great potential to be a lover of both humans and cats, but it's slow going and on his terms.
Lance allows pats during food times and has even more confidence when it's dark. For some reason, late at night/very early morning is perfect for his confidence to shine. He sleeps on the bed, allows pats, smooches and will try to play with your hands, although he can be a little rough.
He will be suited to a home with no young children and someone who will be willing to build trust over a period of time. He requires the company of at least 1 other cat who will allow him to become their best friend as he spends his days cuddling and playing with the resident cats.
Medical notes
Lance has been diagnosed with Stomatitis and has had a part mouth extraction (all teeth behind the canines have been removed).
Stomatitis is a condition that causes the mouth to get inflamed, there is no cure for stomatitis, however 60% of cats will go into remission after a full mouth extraction (FME) or part mouth extraction (PME) and the other 40% can have some or no improvement at all from the removal of teeth.
Lance is part of the 60% that go into remission. He may experience flareups from time to time, which will require vet care usually consisting of antibiotics and/or steroids and/or anti-inflammatories.
