Louie is a very happy and adorable snuggle bug, very well socialised from an early age. He has been in care with dogs of all ages and sizes and did extremely well for such a young dog. Louie is currently in foster care with a kelpie girl and he just loves his foster sister and all of the family, adores cuddles and is an all round versatile young pup. He is particularly good for the young child in his foster house, very gentle and respectful.
Louie is a smart boy, his foster family are putting a lot of work into getting his basic doggie manners and training in place. He is very quick on the uptake and mostly remembers his lessons. Having an older Kelpie foster sister to show you the ropes is a big bonus for him and he pays attention to her guiding him. He is still working on all the basics in the house and on the lead but he has only just started the learning so still plenty of time to get things right.
Louie is still a bit scared when he travels in the car, he needs a companion to get him through the journey to the destination without any fuss. It's just a time thing that lots of puppies go through and he will get better with every journey he takes. He does love to play with other dogs on any occasion he can so having another family dog to be mentored by and play with would be an essential part of his adoption families package.
Louie has been working on his good boy house manners and would prefer a moderately gentle house with not too much of a crazy high level of activity by all of the humans. Of course he does want to be the centre of attention but he also needs his space so he can grow into the big wide world with confidence.
Louie has been receiving instructions on dual lead walking so he can understand not to pull or react, always keep to the left and enjoy his walks around his local neighbourhood. He is still on his learners permit as far as walking and basic commands go but is getting lots of practise and that always helps make you perfect.
He will require puppy school to reinforce good manners. He thrives with good enrichment, and enjoys family time. He is confident around other pets, and fits in well to work/school/family routines. Louie is crate trained, working on being house trained and will require a family who have the time to dedicate to providing him with confidence, training and loads of love.
As a working breed it is paramount that his forever family understand the needs of working breed dogs and that they are a lifelong commitment for the rest of their life. All of Louie's vet work has been completed so he is ready to get on with the rest of his life at home with you.
Louie is looking for a family who want to welcome a "ready to go" pup into their family and share their love and time with. Whilst Louie looks like a Kelpie, his traits are all cattle dog, he is loyal, will alert you regarding visitors and enjoys life to the fullest every single minute.
If you are looking for the goodest little snuggle bug and would like to meet this young dog, please fill out the application form as he would like to get settled in with his new family.
Love & licks,
Louie🐾🐶❤️
