Dewy is an adorable young chap, well socialised, a little shy and also a little confident, loves his foster sister, the cats and all of the family, adores cuddles and is an all round little super dude.
He is in foster care with another dog who he loves playing tug rope with and 3 cats who are all his friends.
Dewey has been well socialized with dogs of all sizes and has been to dog parks many times to get an understanding of the park dynamics and who is who in the zoo. Dewy has started his basic training, has been working on his good boy house manners and would prefer a moderately gentle house with not too much of a crazy high level of activity by all of the humans. Of course he does want to be the centre of attention but he also needs his space so he can grow into the big wide world with confidence.
Dewey travels very well in the car, sits quietly and waits until you reach your destination without any fuss. He does love to play with other dogs on any occasion he can so having another family dog to be mentored by and play with would be a total bonus but not essential.
Dewey has learnt to sit and wait for the eat command before he gobbles his dinner, he is very gentle taking treats and his curiously cautious around the pussy cats.
He will require puppy school to reinforce good manners. He thrives with good enrichment, and enjoys family time. He is confident around other pets, and fits in well to work/school/family routines. Dewey is crate trained, house trained and will require a family who have the time to dedicate to providing him with confidence, training and loads of love.
As a working breed it is paramount that his forever family understand the needs of working breed dogs and that they are a lifelong commitment for the rest of their life. All of Dewey's vetwork has been completed so he is ready to get on with the rest of his life at home with you.
Dewy is looking for a local Gippsland family who want to welcome a "ready to go" pup into their family and share their love and time with. Whilst Dewey looks like a Kelpie, his traits are all cattle dog, he is loyal, will alert you regarding visitors and enjoys life to the fullest every single minute.
If you are in Gippsland and would like to meet this young dog, please fill out the application form as he would like to get settled in with his new family.
Love & licks,
Dewey🐾🐶❤️
