About Charlie
Charlie – how does one describe Charlie?
Charlie is 5 year and 1 month old Maltese x Shih Tzu
Charlie has come into care from a private surrender - his owner passed away and Charlie had nowhere to go.
Charlie is a mix of old soul and young dog all in one.
Charlie came into care and slotted straight into the foster carers home without any issues - he is calm and patient and well behaved and reminds you of an old dog with some of his traits.
Then once Charlie is happy and content at the home his young side comes out with a happy dance and a vocal hello when you get home from anywhere.
Charlie's tail will go a mile a minute and he will tell you how he guarded the house and ran off the ninja's that were threating the home while you were gone. Charlie will have happily done all of this whilst snoozing on the couch or the bed while you were out.
Once you meet Charlie you will fall in love with the happy loving personality he has. Charlie's only thing that he will protest on is if there is a divider stopping him from being able to be near his humans - and he will stand up loud and remind you that is not okay. If no divider Charlie is very happy to simply be in the house with you.
Charlie spends a lot of day sleeping in the office with his foster mum while she works or snoozing on the couch or on the bed. Charlie is a very low maintenance boy.
Charlie loves to sleep on the bed at night - he will have a quick cuddle and then he will go to his spot on the bed and sleep the night away.
Charlie is currently in care with a few other dogs of all different sizes and temperaments with no issues, he would also happily be an only dog
Charlie is awesome to go in the car with, take places (he won't embarrass his humans with bad behavior) and happy just to simply be with his humans.
Charlie has been around small kids they don't both him, but he would probably prefer not to be picked up and carried around.
Charlie has been fine with cats - showed no interest.
Charlie loves a good walk but at his pace and when he wants - he would not be a constant walking buddy.
Charlie loves to spend time inside and outside (at his choosing) he knows how to use the doggy door and will happily walk to the beat of the music playing in his head on whether he is inside or outside – and 100% his choice - he loves both but is not a dog that should be left outside for hours a day.
Charlie will happily sleep away some of the day on the couch, human bed or a dog bed.
Charlie is toilet trained.
Charlie weighs 6kgs
Charlie would absolutely love a home where someone is home often to give him attention and love (of course he is, he's a small white fluffy - when you have ever seen them say noooooo go to work and I will run the house for 8+ hours)????
Charlie would love someone who works from home or doesn’t need to work and can take him on adventures or who will be outside doing some gardening so he can supervise help or just generally be a part of having a blast.
Charlie does have a coat that requires grooming so please remember that is a lifetime commitment
Charlie would love to be part of a home who wants a loyal companion, a buddy who will let him be old Charlie when he wants and then young Charlie when he wants - each way with a smile at him and love in your eyes!
Until you meet Charlie you will not truly know the truly amazing boy he is - apply now and be prepared to have this awesome boy as part of your life!

All our dogs leave our care with full vet work (up-to-date vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, heart worm and intestinal wormed and flea treated).
Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.
Please note - we are not a pound or have kennels - all our dogs stay in foster carers homes and therefore dogs are not able to be simply viewed - only approved applicants will meet the dogs.
Please Note: We do not hold any animals so please only apply if you are ready to adopt now
Please note - We don't take calls on adoption enquiries - an application must be completed
We can also be found at https://www.facebook.com/pawprintscanine/
Complete the following adoption enquiry link

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption - each bio will state if available for adoption - please check before applying.
