Lyra is a happy puppy with a beautiful big soul, looking for a loving home where she can continue to grow in confidence. She’s wonderful with her current carer and their older daughter, showing her sweet and affectionate nature once she feels safe. Lyra is a domestic Maremma, not suited for farm life at all. She absolutely loves children and wants to play chasing games, hide n seek, you play and she is all in.
Lyra is excellent with other dogs of all breeds and sizes and enjoys chasing, playing tag and will give them all a welcoming bow as an invitation to play with her. She would prefer to be the only dog in her home as she gets protective and jealous in her own home of other dogs.
Lyra is comfortable both indoors and outdoors and has multiple favourite snoozing spots inside next to her people. She finds comfort in her familiar space and routine and loves nothing more than a good scratch and brush.
She would do best in a home with a welcoming family where the children want to be her friend and give her confidence. When she’s unsure or frightened, she naturally seeks out the company of her family for reassurance.
Lyra is doing extremely well and currently working on her basic commands and is house trained. She is looking for a family with children who will benefit from her company, who want to involve her in their everyday life and understand that she is a guardian dog and will bark when strangers approach the house. She’s not suited to the hustle and bustle of an inner city suburb and would thrive in a patient home with space to relax, explore, and be her happy self.
With time, patience, and love, Lyra will continue to blossom into the calm, loyal companion she’s meant to be. As a natural guardian dog, Lyra will alert you when someone comes near your property.
Lyra will be best suited to a family with children over 6 as a companion dog. She loves routine, enjoys her walks and is looking for that special someone who loves big dogs with a world of love to share.
