Meet Sam - a cheeky, affectionate, and sensitive older gentleman with a heart full of love. Sam adores being close to his people and would thrive in a home where someone is around often, especially at first as he settles in.
A true lap dog at heart, he melts into soft pats and neck scratches, leaning in with gentle affection. Sam came to us in rough shape but he's made great progress, and would benefit from ongoing positive reinforcement, touch-consent work, and patience as he builds trust.
A calm, understanding vet willing to tailor visits to Sam's comfort-possibly with the help of pre-visit meds-will be key to keeping him stress-free.
Sam would do best with older, dog-savvy kids who can respect his boundaries. He's ready to be part of a loving home, where he'll return your care with endless love and cuddles.
