About Miska
Meet Miska – The Sweetheart Who Loves Cuddles and Playtime
Miska is the sweetest puppy you could hope to meet, always ready for a cuddle and eager to share her joy with everyone around her. She’s a happy soul who adores life’s simple pleasures—especially toys. Squeaky, soft, or bouncy, she loves them all! Miska will proudly parade her treasures, making sure you admire them (and the delightful sounds they make).
Miska is a 9 kilos stunning German Shepherd x who has been in foster care with multiple dogs since her arrival so is well rounded with other dogs of all sizes. We know Mum was a Shepherd and Dad either a Shepard or a shepard x She has also had 2 sets of puppy vaccines and vitamin shots while being fed on premium puppy food to ensure her body has received all the nutrition a growing puppy needs.
She’s also discovered the TV and can sometimes be found standing in front of it, fascinated by the noises. Thanks to her sister, Miska has recently learned the joys of water—she’ll stand in the pool or dip her paw into the water bucket. But she rarely stays in one spot for long; there’s a whole world to explore—birds, flowers, dirt, and of course, more toys!
When Miska first arrived, she wasn’t very food motivated—you could eat chicken in front of her and she wouldn’t bat an eye, and sometimes you’d have to carry her to her bowl. Now, food is one of her favourite things. She eats premium dry food with raw meat twice a day and loves apples, carrots, watermelon, pineapple, and cheese. She has no food aggression.
Miska sleeps soundly through the night and loves her dog bed, whether snuggled up with another dog or curled up alone. When she’s tired, she’ll happily put herself to bed.
She’s fully house-trained and takes herself outside to the toilet. She hasn’t used a dog door, as she’s always had free access to the backyard, but in a new home she may have a few settling-in accidents at first.
Miska has been working on her sit, stay, fetch, bring the ball back, and follow the “leave it” command. She’d benefit from ongoing training to strengthen her social skills and obedience. She enjoys daily walks, meeting new people, and greeting everyone she sees.
Miska loves running and playing with the other dogs in her home. She enjoys a wide variety of toys and can also entertain herself playing independently
Miska lives with teenagers and is wonderful with visiting younger children. She plays gently with all ages and has never been mouthy. She also lives happily with several other dogs and would do well with a well-socialised, tolerant male dog who enjoys playful puppy energy. She hasn’t been tested with cats.
Miska is a great travel buddy. She may give a little cry at first but soon settles down and enjoys the ride. She always travels safely clipped in with her seatbelt harness.
Due to her poor start to life ( a starved puppy) Miska does have a habit of occasionally consuming her own toileting bits which has improved greatly but can still happen at times.
Miska’s Ideal Home: To set her up for success we are seeking
Secure medium to large backyard with grass and shade and shelter
A family who will include her as part of the home (not just outside)
Another well-socialised male dog is okay but we would be seeking a more youthful companion as she is only a young pup and loves to play so if another dog in residence please consider your dogs energy and age before applying
Daily walks—short and gentle while she’s still growing but she will require lots of stimulation and activities as she grows as she is a Shepherd girl so please know your breed before applying
Plenty of love, attention, and ongoing training
A household ready for a fun, toy-loving puppy
Children in the home will be fine if in residence but we would be seeking mature age and dog savvy
She will not be suited to small yards. Apartment or until style living as the yard will not be big enough to play as she matures.
No first time dog owners please as due to her breed we are seeking experienced dog owners
