About Maggie - 8 Month Old Bull Arab X
Maggie is an 8 month old Bull Arab x funny girl with lots of love to give!
Maggie is still a puppy but is growing to be a medium to large breed dog. Maggie loves burning off her energy through play or in the yard, but will happily curl up with you while watching a movie, or play with toys and tennis balls by herself - Maggie is great at keeping herself entertained!
Maggie can sit, shake, stay, hi five and lay down! Maggie will leave a room if you tell her “out” and is working on her “drop it” and “leave it”. Maggie sits and waits until you tell her she can eat her food which is huge progress for a pup who used to guzzle her food! Maggie is still working on her recall and walking on a lead so she would love a family who can continue to train her and take her for long walks. Maggie is gentle and has been around children as young as toddlers. Maggie can get a little bit excited and jump up on people, which she is learning not to do and will need continued positive reinforcement.
Maggie sleeps well inside her crate at night, and has learned that it is her safe space. She responds well to “in your bed” at bed time. Maggie is toilet trained and can hold her bladder overnight and throughout the day. Maggie will sit near the front/back door if she needs to go to the toilet. When asked “do you need the toilet?” Maggie will sit to show you yes and she is working on her “speak” to let her in/out at the door. Maggie would learn to use a doggy door quite quickly!
Maggie can get a little bit anxious when she is left alone for long periods and does well with enrichment and toys. Maggie has a lot of energy and would suit an active family or a home with another doggy companion, as she is very social and loves to play. Maggie is curious of other creatures and enjoys bird watching. Maggie has been exposed to chickens (she was quite excited by them) so a home without birds would be ideal. Maggie is not tested with cats or pocket pets, but has met cows and horses.
Maggie’s perfect home will have:
* A calm, loving environment with a family who can continue with training and routine to support Maggie’s confidence and trust
* A family who’s home often, especially while Maggie is still a pup. She is learning to spend periods of time out in the yard with nobody home.
* Access indoors for cuddles and sleeping in her crate at night
* Another friendly dog to teach her all the doggy social norms!
Maggie is in foster care in Woodberry, NSW. Her adoption fee is $600, and she is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and treated for fleas, ticks and worms.
