About Nellie
Meet Nellie – Your Loyal Shadow and Snuggle Buddy!
Nellie is a sweet, loving girl who’s ready to find her forever home. She’s the kind of dog who forms deep bonds with her people and wants nothing more than to be near you—whether that means cuddling on the couch or just keeping you company around the house.
Personality & Temperament:
* Gentle and affectionate – Nellie thrives on love and attention.
* Great with kids, cats, and most dogs – she’s been well-socialized and generally gets along with everyone.
* Timid around new people – especially some men – but with patience and calm introductions, she warms up beautifully.
* Very loyal – she’ll be your shadow and loves being involved in everything.
Training & Behavior:
* Toilet trained – only one accident in the past two days!
* Walks nicely on lead – a pleasure to take on strolls.
* Obedient and eager to please – but will benefit from continued, positive reinforcement training.
* Loves attention – she’ll want to be the center of your world (and probably your lap).
Ideal Home:
Nellie would do best in a calm, patient home that can provide:
* Lots of affection and companionship.
* Ongoing training and structure.
* An understanding environment to help her build confidence, especially around new people.
She’ll make a wonderful family dog and bring so much joy to the right home. Her gentle, loving nature and loyalty are her standout qualities. If you're looking for a devoted companion who will adore you unconditionally—Nellie might be the one!

If you are interested in finding out more about the dogs we have in care, please go to our website at http://www.dustypawsdogrescue.com/adopt and fill in an adoption form.
* Please note, this is not a contract or agreement of any kind, only expression of interest in our dog. We will not conduct any meet and greets unless this form has been filled out and submitted for review. Only approved applicants will get to meet our dogs. *
Once approved you will be contacted by a team member and can organise a time best suited to meet with the carer and dog. If you have other dogs they must also be at the meeting, including any children in the immediate family.
Before applying please consider the following:
• real estate approval if renting
• any fencing repairs that may need to be done
• outside shelter
• breed knowledge
• do you have enough time for the breed of dog you are applying for?
If you and the dog get along, you have to option of taking the dog on the spot (at this time you will need to pay the full adoption price and sign the adoption agreement) You will then get a 2-week trial with the dog, during this time should things not work out you are to return the dog to Dusty Paws Dog Rescue. You will then receive a full refund; less $50 admin fee within 7 business days of the return of the dog.

Please also keep in mind that we are a volunteer run rescue which means we don’t have someone manning the phone 24/7, we all work full time jobs and get back to your calls and messages as soon as we can. We thank you for your time and patients with us.
